Meet Our New Crew Supervisor
We are pleased to introduce you to Stephen Berkey, our new Crew Supervisor who joined our team this month! He comes to Building Value after a 17-year career with the U.S. Navy, where he led construction and deconstruction crews overseas and mentored young recruits. As Crew Supervisor, his work will be quite similar as he trains our participants for construction careers here in Cincinnati. In his free time, Stephen likes to practice Bonsai, tend to his Bonsai garden, and complete course work towards his BA in History. We are all very excited and lucky to have Stephen on the Building Value team!

Our new cat, Garfield, is doing a great job at mousing, but he’s quite elusive—and hasn’t met many of our customers yet. Even the staff has a hard time finding him throughout the store. Now Taking House Plant Donations
Thanks to our sustainability mission, we’ve always thought green. Now we’re talking greenery! An unexpected and generous donation of some large house plants gave us an idea… If you’re either losing your green thumb or have houseplants that are starting to take over your life, please consider donating them to Building Value, where we’ll sell them in the store with our other household goods to raise money for our construction training program.
Monthly Tuesday Discount Days
You have asked, and we have listened. Starting in 2025, we are rolling out our Tuesday discount days. On select Tuesdays of the month, we will be be honoring different groups with a discount.
Join us for freshly baked cookies and coffee and 20% off on our specialty discount days:
- 2nd Tuesday of the month: Senior Citizens (55+)
