See Our Retail Renovations—Built with Reclaimed Materials!

Over the past year, Building Value has been busy—not just helping customers find unique reclaimed treasures, but also enhancing our store to create a better experience for everyone. We’re excited to share the incredible updates we’ve made, and the best part? Every renovation was completed using reclaimed building materials, saved from the landfill and given a newly-polished second life.

When pulling into our parking lot, you can’t miss the outdoor display revealing an ever-changing selection of pavers, bricks, stone, and other hardscape materials. But the changes don’t stop there!

Lined along the front of the parking lot is our fleet of new (to us) trucks, ready to hit the road for donation pickups, deliveries, and deconstruction projects. These additions help us serve the community more efficiently and keep building materials moving toward new homes instead of wasteyards.

As soon as you walk into our store, you’ll be greeted by a vibrant display of live plants, adding a pop of life and color to the entrance. They tend to sell quickly, but that just means there’s always something new waiting for you—whether it’s a monstera, a fiddle-leaf fig, or a completely different flora altogether.

While admiring our potted plant pals, you might have noticed our breezeway received a major upgrade with a new ceiling. Not just there, but also in the Antique Room, too! These beautiful ornate ceiling tiles are made of recycled plastic and were hand-painted by our talented retail manager, Terry Brueneman.

As you stroll through the store you may find yourself in a large room with neatly assorted appliances. Don’t worry, you didn’t stumble into a magical wardrobe and emerge inside a big box retailer—you’ve entered our new appliance room!

Our checkout counter has also been completely reimagined, using reclaimed wood and materials, creating a more welcoming and streamlined area. We also added a new coffee stand so you can enjoy a warm cup while browsing for treasures—because hunting for deals is better with caffeine!

Perhaps the biggest change to come through our store are the customer bathroom renovations. Both of these rooms underwent a full remodel, using salvaged light fixtures, sinks, toilets—everything. It’s clean, comfortable, and perfectly reflects our mission of sustainability and reuse.

Upon exiting the store, you might see a brilliant blue shed on the corner of the parking lot. This little structure also got a much-needed makeover—and it’s not just looking good, it’s working hard too! The renovated space now houses all the tools our latest cohort uses for hands-on deconstruction training. From pry bars to power tools, everything’s organized and ready to go as trainees learn the skills they’ll use out in the field.

Every improvement we made this year reflects our commitment to diverting materials from the landfill and proving that reclaimed doesn’t mean second best—it means smart, creative, and sustainable.

We can’t wait for you to see what we’ve done. Stop by soon to check out the changes, shop reclaimed, and be a part of Building Value’s continued growth.
