This piece was constructed using three large 60” x 18’ wooden windows. The glass was intact. We were able to locate a solid piece of barnwood that was 72” x 11”, which became the back of the piece. I (Guido) added the legs, the top and bottom from leftover items from previous projects. Jeff and I are plant flower people. Early summer, when all the blooms start to pop, we look forward to spending time on our deck or in our garden and enjoy all the blooms. Our cabinet gives you a taste of walking into our garden on a pleasant summer day. The piece is coated with colored furniture wax. We were able to find some bright stunning colors of wax which not only protects the piece, but makes it pop! We hope the owners enjoy the piece as much as we enjoyed constructing it.
Guido DiMarco always likes to look for ways to repurpose items. While not trained in carpentry or design, he enjoys building things and making them shine. He appreciates color and movement. Guido believes there is perfection in imperfection and his work celebrates little flaws in the piece. He also believes the function of the piece is just as important as its appearance.
