When Pump Salon (now Mitchell’s Salon & Day Spa) decided not to renew its lease at Rookwood Commons, they reached out to us. Together, we turned a store closure into a win-win-win: materials were salvaged, the landfill was spared, and folks in our training program gained real construction experience. What made it even better? Some of those iconic salon chairs were spray-painted and given new life at Yoma Cincinnati in Northside! These pieces got a glow-up and a fresh start, while keeping sustainability and community impact at the heart of it.
