Building Value is an extension of Easterseals Serving Greater Cincinnati, a nonprofit committed to empowering individuals with disabilities and disadvantages to achieve a higher quality of life. Easterseals has more than 40 years of experience as an indispensable resource in building a more diverse and inclusive workforce. It breaks down barriers to employment for people with disabilities, people facing disadvantages, and veterans.
How Building Value Began
Easterseals has operated packaging and fulfillment centers where program participants with disabilities and disadvantages can gain practical work and social interaction skills. With the growth of automation in the 1980s and 1990s, it became increasingly difficult to find the volume of work necessary to keep the fulfillment center profitable. Easterseals needed to develop another income-generating venture that would support its programs and services while continuing to provide participants with unique job-training opportunities.
Building Value LLC was the solution, coming to fruition in 2004.
The Double Bottom Line at Building Value
We support the mission of Easterseals by:
- teaching skills in the industries of construction and retail
- generating revenue for other Easterseals programs
- providing paid job-training opportunities for people who need work experience.
Building Value also helps the larger community. As our associates develop workplace skills, they conserve natural resources, reduce the amount of waste going into local landfills, and make building materials more affordable.
