Antique Victorian Pier Mirror

$350

A genuinely rare find with deep Cincinnati roots. This tall, narrow Victorian pier mirror features an ornate gilt-tone frame with richly detailed carved acanthus leaf corners and decorative beaded inner molding — the kind of craftsmanship you simply don’t see in modern pieces. The upper panel holds a romantic portrait print of a young woman in a white dress, rendered in the soft, painterly style typical of late 19th century academic art. The lower panel is a full-length mirror, making this as functional as it is beautiful. On the back, an original dealer label from The Collins & Drooglemann Co. Art Store — 148 E. Fourth Street, Cincinnati, Ohio — places this piece firmly in Cincinnati’s artistic and commercial history, likely dating it to the late 1800s or early 1900s. Some age-appropriate crackling to the frame finish adds to its authentic antique character. Measuring 1’6″ wide and 5′ tall, it’s a commanding statement piece for an entryway, bedroom, or sitting room. A true piece of Cincinnati history at $350.
