Building Value Partners with the

Workforce Council of Southwest Ohio

There’s something very fitting about a workforce development organization trusting Building Value to help them move forward.

This summer, the Workforce Council of Southwest Ohio and the OhioMeansJobs Cincinnati-Hamilton County Center are relocating to the Community Action Agency building — and Building Value is proud to be part of making that transition happen. Our team was brought in to handle the deconstruction and cleanout of their current space, ensuring that the move is done thoughtfully, sustainably, and with as little waste as possible.

For those unfamiliar, the Workforce Council of Southwest Ohio is the region’s workforce development board, connecting job seekers — including youth, young adults, and adults facing barriers to employment — with training, apprenticeships, and career resources. Their OhioMeansJobs Center serves as a one-stop hub where Cincinnatians can access job search support, skills training, and employment services. In short, they’re in the business of building people up — which is exactly what we do, too.

That shared mission made this partnership feel like a natural fit. When organizations like the Workforce Council choose Building Value for their deconstruction and cleanout needs, they’re not just hiring a crew — they’re investing in the same community they serve. Our trainees gain real, hands-on experience on projects like this one, building the skills they need to launch lasting careers in the construction trades.

We’re grateful to the Workforce Council of Southwest Ohio for choosing Building Value, and we wish them all the best as they settle into their new home this summer. Keep an eye on their website for updates on the move — and if your organization has a cleanout, renovation, or deconstruction project on the horizon, we’d love to talk.

Toyota Boshoku America

Renews $10,000 Commitment to Building Value

We have exciting news to share: Toyota Boshoku America has once again stepped up as a champion for workforce development in our community, recommitting $10,000 to support the Building Value Construction Training Program.

This renewal comes on the heels of their first generous $10,000 gift, which had a direct and meaningful impact on our program. That funding provided personal protective equipment (PPE) to our Construction Training Program participants — ensuring every trainee could work safely and professionally — and covered the cleaning and repair of our loading dock, a critical part of our daily operations.

Toyota Boshoku America is a subsidiary of Toyota Boshoku Corporation, a global leader in automotive interior systems known for its deep commitment to sustainability and human development. It’s no surprise, then, that they recognize the value of investing in people. Their renewed $10,000 gift will go directly toward continuing to train community members in the construction trades, helping them build the skills, confidence, and credentials needed for long-term career success.

Partnerships like this one make our work possible. We are deeply grateful to Toyota Boshoku America for their continued belief in our mission and their investment in the future of our community.

Building Value Partner Testimonials:

Rudy Frank – Tender Mercies

When a space feels cared for, the people inside it do too. That’s the philosophy behind our ongoing partnership with Tender Mercies, one of Cincinnati’s most vital permanent supportive housing providers. Since 1985, they’ve been transforming the lives of adults experiencing homelessness and mental illness by providing security, dignity, and community in a place they can truly call home — today serving more than 200 residents across Over-the-Rhine and the West End.

Through our Property Turns services, Building Value crews refresh Tender Mercies units between residents — painting walls, finishing trim, and making sure every space is clean, safe, and move-in ready. For someone who’s spent years without stable housing, walking into a well-kept unit sends a message words sometimes can’t: you matter here.

“The impact for the staff and the residents has not only helped us financially meet our budget requirements, but it’s helped up build a relationship with an organization that’s reliable and trustworthy.”

-Rudy Frank, Volunteer Services Coordinator at Tender Mercies

Rudy Frank, Volunteer Services Coordinator at Tender Mercies, recently shared what this work has meant to their residents. Watch his video testimonial on our YouTube channel — it’s a good reminder of why we do what we do.

Every project like this advances the same interconnected goals: meaningful employment for our crew members, materials diverted from landfills, and Cincinnati’s most dedicated housing providers keeping their communities in top shape. That’s what this partnership is all about.

Whether you manage transitional housing, affordable apartments, or any property where people deserve to feel at home, we’re ready to help. Our Property Turns crews keep spaces safe, dignified, and move-in ready — while every project supports job creation and waste reduction right here in Cincinnati.
