Here it is — the one that started it all. The Flexible Flyer is arguably the most recognizable and beloved sled brand in American history, and this Flexible Flyer III is a wonderful vintage example of this iconic winter classic.
The rich hardwood deck has aged to a beautiful warm honey tone, and the original Flexible Flyer graphics are remarkably well-preserved. The centerpiece decal features the brand’s classic arrow design running the full length of the deck, complete with the iconic eagle and shield emblem that made Flexible Flyer instantly recognizable to generations of American kids.
True to the brand’s legacy, this sled features the patented flexible steering mechanism — the innovation that put Flexible Flyer on the map when it was first introduced in the 1880s. The rider steers by pressing their feet or shifting weight on the front crossbar, allowing the front runners to flex independently for responsive, controlled steering. The original cotton rope pull is still attached.
